Mission Statement:

The BVI Seventh-day Adventist School is an educational institution operated by the Seventh-day Adventist churches to educate students for the responsibilities of this world and to prepare them for citizenship in the world to come.

Philosophy of Education:
The Administration and staff of this school share the view that the child is a total being with physical, spiritual, social and intellectual areas that need to be developed to the glory of God. In view of this, the education provided at this school aims not only to provide students with the foundation for making them useful citizen in this world but also to help them to develop Christ-like characters that would fit them for the world to come. We believe these goals can be achieved through the programme of the school, the example of teachers and parents and through useful occupation. Therefore, cooperation among parents, children and teachers is vital to achieve any measure of success.

Objectives:

  • To impart a knowledge of God as creator and sustainer of life.
  • To awaken the spiritual nature and instill a sense of total dependence upon God.
  • To provide opportunities that will foster the development of a Christ-like character.
  • To establish habits of conduct in keeping with laws of physical, mental, spiritual and social health
  • To develop skills in the primary tools of knowledge, reading, writing, language and number concepts.
  • To train the youth to be thinkers and to instill in them values that will assist in helping them make positive decisions.
  • To encourage an interest in the physical world about us and to instill the spirit of inquiry.
  • To develop an understanding of the social world in which we live.
  • To provide opportunities for the development of leadership skills.
  • To inspire love and loyalty to country, and respect for recognized authority.
  • To develop an understanding of the world and its needs with the interdependence of people and nations and the role they can play in carrying the gospel to every nation, kindred, tongue and people.
  • To develop an appreciation for the finer things of life.
